About Stoke-on-Trent City Council

Why Stoke-on-Trent?

Following our inadequate Ofsted judgment in 2019 for Children’s Services, we are making improvements. We are working hard to listen to, engage with and learn from children, their families, our partners and our employees.

We are fully committed to doing all we can to improve our response for vulnerable children and that’s where you come in. You’ll be a team member who can take forward these improvements as a hardworking, dedicated and passionate individual.

Leeds City Council has been appointed as our official improvement advisor for an initial period of 12 months and this partnership gives us an opportunity to learn from an outstanding authority and accelerate the way we work around here.

There is a lot to be done but we’re committed, confident and capable and keen to use your views, ideas and expertise to help us to get better. This in itself presents hugely unique opportunities for personal and professional development if you choose to join us. If you think this job is the perfect fit for you, we’d love to hear from you.
